Happy New Year!
Dear Readers
How about we all make a resolution to be really positive this year! Aren’t you really tired of the doom and gloom, the incessant talk of recession and repossession? I think we should all start talking it up! We’re certainly happy to pass on some of the positive vibes emitting from Meanwood.
Penny Field School won the People’s Millions (well £50,000!); Brenda Lancaster is looking forward to continuing to work with local community groups, and, having presented a Memorial Service together, the new ministers at Meanwood Methodist and Meanwood Trinity are looking forward to more opportunities to cooperate. Linzi Welsh is getting closer to her fundraising goal – there’s another event planned. Then there’s Trio Literati, who are about to celebrate writers in Headingley; and local composer, Tim Knight, is busy organising the first Handel in Headingley Festival.
More good news from the area includes another Classics at the Cottage; Opera North opening the Howard Assembly Room with a fantastic celebration programme; and a great offer on web design for our readers and advertisers. And, if you haven’t tried our ‘Lifeline’ service yet, simply text the word ‘INFO’ to 0113 3205433 for details of how to access local services direct to your mobile.
It just remains for us to wish you everything we would wish for ourselves for the coming year – Peace, Happiness, and Prosperity. Think positive!
Happy New Year
Jack, Carole, Kahla and Brendan
